Local enthusiast, Chris, has a vision of nurturning chess champs from Hout Bay, and he also wants to nurture their bodies. It all started when he hosted a chess championship at the WorkSpace. He was taken by the number of kids who showed up. While volunteering to help distribute Love In A Bowl veggies at the Harvest Youth Centre this year, Chris decided to create the chess club and he currently has 20 enthusiastic youth in training! Hold thumbs for the next regional chess champion, and thanks Chris for being a champion of our youth’s minds and bodies.
