Hello Family
As the nights begin to stretch longer and the days grow shorter, we find ourselves falling gently into the rhythm of Autumn here at Love in a Bowl.
We are currently soaking up every bit of the warmer season’s harvest, from our vibrant squash and aubergines to the very last of our sun-ripened tomatoes.
Behind the scenes, winter prep is already in full swing as we spread tons of our farm-made compost to nourish the soil for the coming crops. We owe a massive thank you to every person who has donated their organic waste; you’ve played a vital role in helping us create the “black gold” that keeps our farm thriving.
It hasn’t just been busy in the soil, though; our hearts have been filled as we’ve welcomed school groups for mornings of discovery on the farm.
We are also thrilled to share that we are now at the Good Food Club markets, and we truly hope to see you there soon. Find us at the Hout Bay, Woodstock and Plumstead branches of this wonderful #GoodFood initiative!

Team Miles for Meals
Two familiar faces from our Hout Bay community are taking on something extraordinary — and doing it in support of Love in a Bowl.
Matt & Matt (Team M&M: Miles for Meals) are embarking on the 2026 Africa Rally — an endurance journey across the continent, driven by purpose as much as adventure.
Every mile they travel is in support of our next step as a community: transforming an existing space into a permanent classroom on the farm. A place where children can gather, learn, and grow — rooted in the same values of nourishment, connection, and opportunity that guide everything we do.
What makes this even more meaningful is their commitment behind it — funding the entire journey themselves, so that every donation goes directly towards building this space.
