This month has brought us incredible joy and a tangible sense of impact as we hit our highest numbers yet. We are thrilled to share that, thanks to your unwavering support and the tireless efforts of our team, we’ve been able to contribute to the creation of an astounding 9,483 meals within our community! This remarkable achievement is a testament to the power of collective compassion and the difference we can make when we come together.
This work wouldn’t be possible without the steadfast dedication of our team and the volunteers that contribute their time and energy. We’ve been truly blessed by the influx of extra hands, and hearts joining our mission through donations, and we extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your contributions, big and small, are the seeds of change that blossom into a stronger, more resilient community.
This Human Rights Day
We are reflecting on the fundamental right to food 🇿🇦 🤝 In Hout Bay, a vibrantly diverse community, we witness daily the stark realities of food insecurity. While inequality persists, many families are left struggling to access nutritious food which directly impacts their health, their children’s education and their ability to thrive.
Our program exists not just to provide meals, but to uphold this basic human right and we are committed to continuing to bridge the gap across the communities we serve, with your help we can truly make a difference.
ART MARKET
For those of you that missed it, at the end of February, we hosted a vibrant Art Market, the first of its kind here on the farm, bringing creativity and community together in the most joyful way for children who don’t have access to the extra mural classes many more privileged kids do.
They had an incredible time getting their hands messy with clay, shaping and moulding their own unique creations. The air was filled with the rhythmic sounds of marimbas as they learned to play, discovering the magic of music through movement and melody. It was a day of expression learning, and laughter; celebrating the power of art in all its forms! It was a pleasure to host and we hope to do many more in the months to come.

Talent Exchange Market
The Cape Town Talent Exchange is joining our Month End Market once again on Saturday 29th March, open from 9am – 2pm 🙌 Along side our fresh produce visitors will be given another opportunity to trade skills, connect, and thrive; without the need for money to change hands! 🤝 If you’d like to take part, or apply to be a trader please click the “Find Out More” link below or email tjarla/ziyanda@loveinabowl.co.za – We look forward to seeing you there!
FEBRUARY’S IMPACT
Last month the farm provided 1000kg of vegetables, enough to feed around 3434 kids across the Early Childhood Development centres we serve, in addition to the 6049 meals made and delivered by our sister organisation, Community Cook Up, February was our most impactful month yet and a true testament to the power of collective energy and love and an achievement we are incredibly proud of.
A whopping 21508kgs of organic waste was rerooted from landfills by our amazing composters, Circle Of Life and we happily welcomed 149 volunteers and fed an extra 47 kids at after school programs on the farm. Looking backward allows us to strive further forward so it’s both fulfilling and motivating to see the progress we’ve made so far.
